American BioCarbon Successfully Achieves Mechanical Completion
White Castle, LA (August 30, 2020) – American BioCarbon, an innovative manufacturer of renewable biocarbon-derived fuel pellets made from sugarcane bagasse, has successfully achieved Mechanical Completion at its pilot facility. The White Castle plant, which is co-located with the Cora Texas Sugar Mill, is now producing high-quality bagasse pellets for commercial customers.
In addition to this production milestone, the company has also reached an Agreement in Principle with a large Oil and Gas customer located in the Southwest U.S. The customer will purchase 100,000 tons per year of bagasse pellets for use in oilfield remediation, at a total estimated price in excess of $10 million. American BioCarbon’s bagasse pellets offer unique absorbent properties which are ideally suited for a variety of uses, including in the Oil and Gas industry.
American BioCarbon’s White Castle facility uses patented biomass separation technology to produce fuel pellets from sugarcane bagasse (the waste byproduct from sugar production) and biochar soil amendment. In addition to its fully operational pilot facility, American BioCarbon will build and operate a new commercial-scale facility to produce 1 million tons per year of product by 2022. American BioCarbon operates under a long-term lease with the Cora Texas Sugar Mill; integration with the Mill provides significant value to the Mill, sugar growers, and American BioCarbon. White Castle is located near several large international shipping ports, with exceptional talent and resources in the region from the agriculture, Oil & Gas, and chemical processing sectors.
